-
Step 1
Open Discord and go to the server you want to integrate. Click the server name and then click server settings in the drop-down menu.
-
Step 2
Click the Integration tab and locate the Twitch icon. Click the manage button near the Twitch icon
-
Step 3
On the next page, click Enable on the account you want to integrate (if you have multiple accounts you can pick which ones to integrate from here).
The page will update and give you some information about your Twitch account; such as a new permissions role for subs, and access to Twitch emoticons.
What Do You Get With Twitch Integration?
-
Twitch Emotes
Your Twitch not only has access to all your Discord emotes but has exclusive access to your Twitch emoticons, which they can now use in your Discord chat. Your Twitch emoticons will not appear in the emoji Discord user settings but will appear when you open your emojis in chat. A bonus to your Twitch emoticons being available to Discord chat, any of your Twitch subs with Discord Nitro can use those emoticons in other Discord servers.
-
Sub Roles
Members of your Discord community who also happen to sub to your Twitch stream will receive new a sub role based on their subscription tier. By default, each role is one default sub role and three special sub-roles based on tiers (Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3). This is where the fun comes in. Give each special sub role some flavor and make it unique. This will help your account stand out. The streamers that stand out are the ones who create a community and make their subs feel appreciated. Discord roles are one way to show your appreciation and creativity.
-
Discord Audio
Audio from your Discord server can now be integrated into your stream. This is perfect for gaming with your viewers and hosting community night streams. This will take some setting up through the OBS app and some OBS plugins, which will require permissions before you are able to use create a voice widget for your stream.
-
Twitch Chat
Along with your Twitch chat, you can also integrate your Discord chat into your stream. Again you’ll need to use OBS and an OBS plugin for this, and again you’ll need to give the plugin permissions to create a chat widget for your stream.
