How to Get Discord Badges

In fact, you can earn badges as easily as completing a simple quiz or purchasing a Discord Nitro subscription. Others will take a little more effort, such as becoming part of the official staff members team.

Discord badges are popular enough to be sought after by many community members. In fact, when the platform stopped handing out the developer Discord badge, people began purchasing accounts from people who had previously attained one.

We have compiled a list of all the different Discord badges that you, as a user, can get or could have got in the past and how to obtain them.

There are three Discord badges that are fairly easy to get. That being said, you will need to spend some money to get two of them.

1. The HypeSquad Badges 

   The first badge that you can easily obtain is the Hypesquad badge. There are three variations to this badge, each corresponding to the three houses that make the HypeSquad.

   To get this Discord badge, all you have to do is go to your Discord settings and scroll all the way down to HypeSquad. After pressing “join HypeSquad”, you will have to take a quiz made out of personality questions. After that, you get the hypesquad house badge that matches your personality closest.

   

   There are three HypeSquad houses: the House of Bravery, the House of Brilliance, and the House of Balance. Each of these HypeSquad houses has its own story and so called values. There is no way for you to get every HypeSquad house badge simultaneously, as you can only be in one house at a time.

2. The Discord Nitro Badge

   

   The next badge is the Discord Nitro badge, to get this badge, all you will have to do is to have purchased a Nitro subscription.

   It doesn’t matter if you get the classic or Nitro subscription. Wither will get you the Discord Nitro Badge. Another cool feature is that if you hover over it, it will show since when you have been subscribed.

   Besides the badge, a Discord Nitro subscription will give you access to many additional features, such as custom emojis and a moving profile picture.

3. Discord Server Booster Badge

   

   The last easy badge you can get is the server booster badge. It’s also one of the only ones that can evolve as time passes. All you have to do to automatically receive this badge is to boost a Discord server you are in.

   As stated before, this badge evolves to show a different shape every few months. All you have to do is to keep using your server boost, which you can either purchase or you can use the server boost you get when you buy nitro.

There are also a few rare badges, which you will have to do a little bit more for than buy a subscription or do a test. Luckily you can gather some of them by being active in a certain way on either Discord or real life.

1. The bug hunter badge

   

   First rare badge in the list is the green bug hunter badge. You can get this badge by reporting any bugs and all the glitches that you can find on the app.

   After finding a certain amount of bugs, you will receive the green bug hunter badge. If you find multiple bugs, you will be able to receive the golden bug hunter badge.

2. HypeSquad Events Badge

   

   Besides the HypeSquad badges, you can also obtain the HypeSquad events badge. You can receive this by organizing HypeSquad events such as local conventions, a LAN event, or a university club.

   You can also get the badge by being one of the HypeSquad event attendees that attend local conventions. Besides the HypeSquad events badge, you can also receive various other goodies, depending on how hyped you are. This can include a Discord HypeSquad t-shirt.

   To organize local events, you will have to apply for the Hypesquad. However, at the moment, you can’t apply for HypeSquad events as it’s being tidied up.

3. Discord Certified Moderator Badge

   

   The Discord Certified Moderator Badge could be obtained by learning the ins and outs of Discord moderation of a server. To prove you actually know this, you will have to participate in the Discord moderator exam, and you will then have to be an active member of the Discord moderator Discord server for at least three months.

4. Discord Partner Badge

   

   Another rare badge is the discord partner badge. You can get this badge by becoming part of the partner program and therefore becoming a Discord partner.

   You can become part of the partner program by having an active and engaged server, this means that you can only get this badge if you are the server owner of this server. Besides getting the Discord partner badge, you will also receive a Discord Nitro badge and a free Nitro subscription.

   And if you want to take it even further, then you can also get the server boost badge as you get free server boosting to level 3.

5. Discord Staff Badge

   

   The Discord Staff Badge is more difficult to get than the ones listed previously, as you will have to apply for a job at Discord itself. Once you are a part of the actual Discord staff members, you will get the badge.

   As an additional note, if you ever get a message from someone who says to be a Discord staff member, make sure to look out for the Discord staff badge. Otherwise, it may be a scam.

6. Early supporter badge

   

   This is one of the two badges that can’t be obtained anymore as it had a certain time frame. This means it is one of the rarest badges you can get on Discord.

   The early supporter badge has been given to anyone who purchased Nitro before Wednesday, October 10th, 2018, as that was the day the $10 tier of Nitro was introduced. The badge was used as a “thank you” gift for anyone who supported the platform in the early years.

7. Discord Bot Developer Badge

   The last badge on the list is the Discord verified bot developer badge, this badge has also become unobtainable, also making it one of the rarest badges that you can obtain on Discord.

   The only way you could get this badge is if you were a bot developer that verified a bot in more than 75 servers (with 40 or more members) before August 19, 2020. Since the program shutdown, it has become the early verified bot developer badge.

   Yes, you can show off multiple badges on your profile; there are even accounts with almost the entire collection of badges. These will show in a certain order of importance.

   Anyone with an account on Discord can see the badges on your profile. However, they are only visible if you click on the user profiles and get the profile popups.
