One of the great things about Discord, unlike TeamSpeak servers, or Skype, is that it is an all-in-one voice and text chat designed to build communities.
Discord is available on both your desktop and mobile device.
If you use Discord for communication, you may wonder if a Discord 64-bit version exists.
What is the Difference Between 32 Bit and 64 Bit?
A computer’s central processing unit (CPU) is the hardware that connects everything in your computer. Effectively, it’s the “brain” of your device.
A 32-bit processor can handle 2^32 memory addresses, which equals 4 GB of physical memory.
A 64-bit processor can handle 2^64 memory addresses. This is significantly more than a 32-bit processor, sitting at around 17 billion GB.
Applications, like Discord, are coded to run in one of these environments.
However, while all 32-bit programs will run on 64-bit systems, 64-bit programs will not run on 32-bit systems. This is due to the much higher amount of memory needed to run 64-bit software.
Discord 32 Bit
Like any piece of software, a user must download Discord and install it on their Windows PC, laptop, Apple, or Android device.
The task manager has the Discord app shown as 32-bit. This is because Discord is coded to run in a 32-bit environment. As stated above, a 32-bit application will run on both a 32-bit and 64-bit system.
All Discord key features, like voice, text chat, server usage, and everything else Discord offers, are fully available on 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
Discord 64 Bit
Currently, there is no 64-bit version of the Discord app. The developers have not explicitly stated that they would make a 64-bit version, but there may be one in the future.
